Tank Gauges and Fuel Level Monitoring Services
Most older tank installations will have a sight tube type gauge. We are able to supply these still, but tend to steer customers away from them for two reasons.
- They provide a weakness in your storage system which in the event of a leak could cause the loss of your entire stock of fuel.
- They require a physical and mental effort of first of all remembering and second actually going outside to look. They’re easy to forget about and often cause run outs.
Because of this we favour the Oil Watchman. - This gauge is a battery operated electronic device with a probe which enters the tank from the top, eliminating one possible source of leaks, and transmits a signal to a receiver which plugs into a standard household power socket enabling the customer to monitor their oil level without the need to go outside, thus reducing the likelihood of run outs.
We can also install the signalman system. This is an add on to the watchman that informs us of your oil level thus putting the onus on us to deliver before you run out. Using the signalman and watchman in tandem you can be assured that you need never worry about running out of oil.
In the event of something going wrong with the system and a run out occurring, we pledge to deliver within 24 hours and pay any costs if the boiler needs bleeding or aga/rayburn need relighting.
